Atmospheric essence of electronica with cutting-edge!
We are thrilled to see the collaborative four-track EP release "Four Lanes" by Berlin-based artist MOLØ and Malmö's producer Slackin Beats released on our label Traum on January 17th. It merges the atmospheric essence of electronica with cutting-edge, experimental soundscapes. This project, a testament to their shared vision and diverse sonic identities, marks the first collaboration between the two innovative artists and promises to capture listeners with its unique blend of warmth, rhythm, and depth. "Four Lanes" explores a rich landscape of sounds, weaving together MOLØ’s signature lush melodies and rhythmic pulses with Slackin Beats melancholic and cinematic beats. Each track invites listeners into a world where textured atmospheres and introspective layers collide, creating a musical journey that is both expansive and deeply personal. This EP serves as an auditory bridge between MOLØ’s melodic touch and Slackin Beats boundary-pushing production style, delivering an immersive experience that speaks to fans of modern electronic music.
MOLØ's musical career commenced in 2018, influenced by her father, a Stockholm-based selector. Her unique artistry was initially recognized by Jeremy Olander, a prominent figure in the scene. An invitation to open for Olander's sold-out label showcase was extended, followed by studio collaborations resulting in the single 'Vanadis.’
The release of MOLØ's solo debut EP 'Luma' achieved a #3 position on Beatport. Subsequently, a nomination for Artist of the Year in the Dance category at the Swedish Independent Music Awards was received. Her first career remix, a rendition of Duccio's 'What If?', was released on Moscoman's Disco Halal label. Attention from the music industry led to a remix request from Anjunadeep for Eli & Fur's work alongside Maya Jane Coles, Fur Coat, and Francesca Lombardo. Sian Eleri featured her interpretation of ‘Wild Skies’ on BBC Radio 1's 'Chillest Show.’
In 2024, MOLØ's debut album was released on Vivrant, featuring collaborations with Running Pine, Atish, and boerd. The project, titled 'Aqua Lull', received editorial support on various major playlists, including Open Air, New Music Friday, and Night Rider. This album introduced a more experimental and electronica-influenced sound to the Swedish artist's repertoire.
In the past year, the Malmö producer Slackin Beats has released several collabs, both with local artists and with singers from the other side of the Atlantic. He has also received a lot of attention from blogs, radio and award nominations. In addition to his own releases, he has produced music for artists such as Rebecca & Fiona, AWA, KURT., Josef Slunge, Rahimic & Erik Lundin. Two years ago, Slackin Beats released their captivating project "CROOK" with Kamohelo (Off The Meds). This 5-track project features British-Nigerian artist/poet Joshua Idehen and artist Lune. With continued
comic book inspirations, CROOK is a toxic, violent, exciting alter ego we've created - the perfect villain. Spacey and dreamy sounds along with low hanging vocals. Recently he released his debut soundtrack for the SF and Netflix film "Forever". A melancholic, electronically driven soundscape with rich and playful synths, chopped vocals and distorted drums. Slackin Beats also released his Swedish collab project "MELLAN TVIVEL & TILLIT" together with rapper OG Bella, featuring Brother John, AYLA and JELLY as guest artists. He’s currently working on his debut album, “Off To A Good Start,” which will be released later this
year.
